TRE & Associates, LLC was engineer of record for the land planning, platting and design of the Valencia Park and Valencia Hills developments under the direction of the owner Checkpoint Ginger, LLC. These subdivisions will create 512 single-family lots with additional lots designated for multifamily, commercial, and school site developments. The 380 acre development community is located in Sunland Park, New Mexico.

Design considerations required managing stormwater runoff from 300 acres upstream and conveyance of that flow through the development. Using computer modeling of multiple scenarios and value engineering, a design that incorporated lined channels and storm sewers achieved that goal.

The water and wastewater service provider, Camino Real Regional Utility Authority, required that TRE perform an analysis of their system to confirm it had the ability to provide reliable service and to identify the most beneficial points of connection to the system. Once identified offsite extension of water lines were necessary. These were facilitated within New Mexico Department of Transportation right of way and required bores under major arterial roadways at several locations to reach the locations for connection.
